The Federal Government has announced that it will resume the evacuation of Nigerian nationals from South Africa today, Monday, June 29, 2026.
According to a statement by spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, an Air Peace aircraft will depart Nigeria at 3:00 pm and is expected to land in South Africa at about 9:00 pm local time.
The return flight is scheduled to leave South Africa at 12:00 midnight and is expected to arrive at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday morning.
A total of 271 Nigerians are expected to be brought back on the evacuation flight.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said further details will be provided as the operation progresses.
