President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday declare open, the 4th International Conference on Safe Schools Declaration.
A statement by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu and signed by the Head Press, Ben Goong says the Conference which is being co-hosted by Nigeria, Spain, Norway and Argentina is aimed at reviewing progress being made by member-states in the quest to make schools safer globally.

The Minister notes that 112 countries, including Nigeria are signatories to the Safe Schools Declaration protocol by the United Nations.
Adamu Adamu adds that Nigeria is hosting the first in the series on the African soil.
This Conference which is expected to feature participants in-person and virtually, is coming on the heels of growing global concerns about the safety of schools especially in conflict zones like Nigeria’s North-East and North-West geo-political zones.
