The Nigerian Government has expressed readiness to partner with the Republic of Iraq in the fight against insecurity in the country.
Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola said this when the country’s ambassador and head of mission of the Republic of Iraq to Nigeria, Anwer Saeed, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Aregbesola also assured the Republic of Iraq of Nigeria’s readiness to partner in the area of cultural ties and sharing of intelligence in tackling insecurity in both countries.
Earlier in his speech, the Ambassador Anwer Saeed, outlined the historical relationship between Nigeria and Republic of Iraq and asked the Minister sustain the ties.
Saeed also said there is a need for the two countries to adopt a memorandum of understanding on bilateral relationship in the fight against insecurity, for the mutual benefits of both countries.
