As the Nigerian Army moves across the country to boost participation in its ongoing 91 Regular Recruits Intake, Cross River State has become the latest stop in a nationwide sensitisation campaign aimed at expanding youth involvement.

The initiative, which is part of efforts to ensure balanced representation across states, is encouraging eligible youths to take advantage of the recruitment window before the May 17 deadline.

At the 13 Brigade Nigerian Army Headquarters, the sensitisation campaign brought together youths and key stakeholders, with a focus on deepening awareness of the recruitment process and requirements.

The exercise is designed to promote inclusiveness and strengthen national representation, as it works towards recruiting about fourteen thousand personnel nationwide.

Speaking during the engagement, the Team Lead of the sensitisation campaign, Brigadier General Moses Ikobah, noted that the Army is committed to ensuring transparency and equal opportunity for all applicants across the country.

He noted that although thousands of applications have been received nationwide, participation from Cross River State remains comparatively low, stressing the need for more youths to take advantage of the opportunity before the May 17 deadline.

Representing Governor Bassey Otu, the Special Adviser on General Duties, Ekpenyong Akiba, reaffirmed the state government’s support for increased youth participation in the exercise.

Some participants called for sustained transparency and equal opportunity, urging that all qualified applicants are given a fair chance.

Earlier, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to the state government, where Deputy Governor Peter Odey assured of continued support for initiatives that promote youth engagement in national service.
