It was a sweet celebration of the 30th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State as Yenagoa-based caterer, Camela Wisdom, owner of Cammy Cakes, took on an ambitious challenge to create what was adjudged as the world’s longest cake line for the Guinness Book of World Records.
The attempt, which took place at the Peace Park in Yenagoa, attracted hundreds of supporters, cake lovers and people of Bayelsa State who turned out to cheer her on.
From the first cake in the morning to thousands lined up as the day progresses, the Peace Park becomes a colourful display of creativity, determination and celebration.
Camela Wisdom and her team set out to create a cake line of about 30,000 pieces as part of activities marking Bayelsa State’s 30th anniversary.
Governor Douye Diri, accompanied by government officials and other dignitaries, also joins supporters at the venue to witness the attempt at breaking the world record.
As the counting continues into the night, supporters keep the energy alive, cheering the team through the demanding challenge.

The atmosphere becomes even more electric as the number of cakes reaches the target of 30,000.
With the final count announced at 30,000 cakes, Camela Wisdom and her team say the attempt is not just about breaking a record, but also about showcasing the creativity, enterprise and determination of young Bayelsa State people.
However, while the organisers celebrate the reported figure, which they say surpasses the previous Guinness World Records benchmark of 26,397 cakes set by Midori City in Japan for the longest continuous line of cakes, there is yet to be an official confirmation from Guinness World Records on the outcome of the attempt.
For now, the sweet spectacle ends with cheers, celebration and anticipation as Bayelsa State people await the official confirmation of the world record.
