The Nigerian Navy says it will continue to strengthen ties with host communities through impactful intervention aimed at enhancing security and promoting development.
The Chief of thr Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, made this known during the commissioning of a Special Intervention Quick Impact Project in Allor Community, Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
He stressed that stronger civil-military cooperation remains key to tackling security challenges.
Represented by the Commandant, Naval Drafting, Rear Admiral Chindu Yahaya, the Chief of the Naval Staff said the Nigerian Navy remains committed to protecting the nation’s waterways while supporting communities through projects that improve the quality of life.
The intervention included the renovation of classroom blocks, construction of modern toilet facilities, and the provision of furniture for LGEA Primary School, Allor.
He noted that the initiative would further strengthen the relationship between the military and host communities in addressing security concerns.
The Nigerian Navy also urged residents to take ownership of the facilities and continue supporting security agencies with credible information to promote peace and safety.
Residents of Allor Community described the project as timely, saying it would improve learning conditions for pupils and contribute to the development of the community.
The Navy says sustained collaboration between communities and security agencies remains essential to building a safer and more secure society, while residents have pledged to preserve the facilities for future generations.
