Student nurses under the aegis of the Nigerian Nurses Voice have registered their displeasure over the new verification guidelines by Nigerian Nursing and midwifery council which they say does not conform with global practices.
The group which took to the streets of Makurdi the State capital described the increment on the verification fee by 400% as alarming insisting that it is a big disservice to the profession.
Stop discrimination against nurses was the theme for this peaceful demonstration by the Nigerian Nurses voice that took to the streets of Makurdi the capital with placards registering their concerns such as “we will not accept the new verification guidelines”, “increase hazard and other time allowances for all medical professionals”.

They also want the State Government to facilitate the payment of their allowances across State health institutions.
The group maintained that they are qualified and must be given their space to function as medical professionals.
Some of the student nurses equally want their rights to practice anywhere protected and not exploited as is being suffered by many.
