Nigerian troops arrest 17 bandits, their collaborators in Katsina

Troops of Operation Sahel Sanity have arrested a wanted bandit’s logistics supplier alongside 13 suspected bandits and 17 of their collaborators while some were neutralized.

The feat according to a statement by the Acting Director Defense Media Operations, Brigadier General Bernard Onyeuko, was achieved recently.

Onyeuko noted that two bandits attacks were foiled in two different communities, Dandume and Kaura Namoda area councils both of Katsina and Zamfara States while in the course of operation, a young abducted female victim was rescued and unspecified numbers of cattle recovered.

He stressed that all the arrested bandits and their collaborators who are presently undergoing serious interrogations and assisting the troops with vital information were from Zamfara and Katsina States respectively.

The statement further said that during the clearance operations, five motorcycles, two Dane guns, three mobile phones, some amount of money, and substances suspected to be cannabis Sativa and other items were recovered.

Onyeuko, while commending the troops for their unrelenting, gallantry, and fighting spirits, urged them to keep dominating the operational areas until total peace returns.
