Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital witnessed a standstill as people across the country gathered at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium to celebrate the 61st birthday of the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, senator Oluremi Tinubu thanked
God for the life of Akpabio that has remained a blessing to humanity.
Other guests, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, the National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator George Akume lauded the celebrant and prayed more impactful service to Nigeria and humanity.
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno described Senator Akpabio as a man of Uncommon path, who has contributed significantly to the development of Akwa Ibom State.
The governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, who was the Chairman of the event said Senator Akpabio remains a fountain of purposeful pursuits and vision.
In his remarks, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio thanked everyone for coming to celebrate with him, and described the event as the celebration of shared contributions to the nation.
A major feature of the event was the cutting of Birthday cake by the celebrant, music by renowned gospel artists, and cultural display.
