As Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, kidnapping and crude oil theft moves beyond the battlefield to the money trail, Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu has directed all police formations nationwide to channel cases involving terrorism, banditry and crude oil theft to specialised units equipped to trace illicit financial flows.
The directive was issued during a strategic meeting with the Director of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, NFIU Hafsat Bakari, in Abuja, where both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening intelligence sharing, financial crime investigations and efforts to disrupt the funding networks behind organised crime.
