Ten-time Africa women’s football champions, Nigeria’s Super Falcons have crashed out of the 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON tournament and will not feature at the 2027 World Cup in Brazil .
The Super Falcons lost by a lone goal to Cameroon in the quarter finals of the ongoing WAFCON.
Cameroon will now face hosts Morocco in the semi-final.
In the other quarter-final, Ghana take on Malawi, with both sides also targeting a place in the semi-finals and qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Hosts Morocco have already booked their place in the semi-finals after defeating South Africa 2-1, while Algeria also advanced with a 2-1 victory over Côte d’Ivoire.
