Members of the Senior Staff Union of Universities, SSANU and Non-academic staff union of Universities, NASU, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka the Anambra State Capital have joined the nationwide strike ordered by the national secretariat of the unions.
Addressing Members of the unions at the university premises, the Chairman of NASU Chukwugozie Ikegulu, read out the directives of the joint National body to include strict and total compliance by all branches of the union across the country
Ikegulu directed members to go home right after the meeting as a taskforce will be out from Tuesday to enforce full compliance of the strike action
The unions insisted that they have been patient with the government over their demands but have now resolved to embark on the nationwide strike that will be total until their demands are met by the federal government.
