The leadership crisis in the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, worsened over the weekend following demand by 10 state chairmen calling for the dissolution of the National Working Committee, NWC.
The Chairmen from 10 states who passed a vote of no confidence on members of the Abba Kawu-led NWC, said they are rejecting the leadership because of their inability to properly manage the affairs of the party.
The State Chairmen which include those of Ekiti, Enugu, Rivers, Zamfara, Kastina, Kaduna, Niger among others, addressed journalists on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti, where the host Chairman, Olayinka Dada accused the party’s NWC of working only in the interest of the party’s former Presidential Candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso against the overall interest of the party.

Dada also accused the former Presidential candidate and one-time Governor of Kano State of attempting to hijack the party, with the aim of solely controlling the structure and hijacking it from the original founder, Bonniface Aniebonam.
