The emerging crisis in the new Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP may not be unconnected with its national leadership structure when the former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Musa kwankwaso joined the party in 2022, to become the Presidential candidate and also the national leader of the party.
A faction of NNPP loyal to Founder of the party, Boniface Aniebonam, announced the suspension of the party’s Presidential candidate in the February 25 Presidential Election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso citing monopoly of leadership, which the National Working Committee denied.
The party advised the faction to desist from politics of sentiments and sued for reconciliation.
The acting national caretaker committee chairman Agbo Major, however noted that the suspension of kwankwaso and other executives of the party stands.
