Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has denied allegations that his administration entered into a negotiation with the leaders of Miyetti Allah regarding the farmers and herders crisis in the state.
Governor Ortom who stated this after inspecting some completed and ongoing projects in Makurdi, the State capital said there will be no policy somersault on its Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law.
Ortom further explained that the statement credited to his Education Commissioner, Dennis Ityavyar that there is land for ranching is untrue.

He, however, said those intending to do livestock business in the state must acquire land through lease and ranch.
The Governor had earlier inspected the Government house administrative block before proceeding to the Geographical information service under the ministry of lands and survey as well as the permanent office complex for the ministry of housing and other agencies.
He later visited the board of internal revenue service permanent office complex,the Apir tse poor road and electrification projects and 3 primary schools in Wadata.
