As part of measures to boost skill acquisition and youth employment the Federal Government has inaugurated an ultra-modern fashion hub to boost the small, medium and large scale business clusters in North-Central Nigeria.
Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the project in Makurdi, the Benue State’s capital noting that it will generate approximately 48,000 jobs annually.
Shettima represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President in the Vice President’s office, Ibrahim Hadejia officially inaugurated the hub to boost the North-Central zone’s tailoring cluster.
State Governor, Hyacinth Alia is confident that the hub will serve as a catalyst for growth and development not just in the State but across the entire region.
According to Governor Alia, a 1000 kva generator, 70 computers, sewing and weaving machines and other equipment were donated by the office of the Vice President.
Following the inauguration it is expected that the fashion hub will evidently transform the entire value chain of the fashion ecosystem in the State and the North-Central Zone.
The representative of the Vice President then proceeded to officially inaugurate the rehabilitated Benue Printing and Publishing Corporation.
