The North-East Governors’ Forum returned to Maiduguri for its 13th meeting, six years after the platform was established to give the region a common voice on issues affecting its development.
Governors and deputy governors from the six states reviewed progress made so far and renewed their commitment to regional cooperation.
At the centre of the discussions was infrastructure and economic integration.
The Forum welcomed renewed Federal Government attention to the Port Harcourt–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Maiduguri rail corridor and the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Biu–Maiduguri highway.
