Northern governors are calling for an urgent review of Nigeria’s security strategy following a recent wave of attacks in Plateau, Bauchi, Benue, Borno and Yobe States.

At a meeting of Northern States Governors’ Forum held in Kaduna, Chairman of the Forum and Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, described the killings as mindless acts of violence against innocent citizens.

He called for stronger, more unified strategies and better collaboration between federal, state and local authorities.

On his part, Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, urged the Forum to fast-track the development of a comprehensive roadmap to address insecurity, promote peace, improve governance, and drive regional development.

The high-level meeting brought together governors, traditional rulers, and top government officials to deliberate on critical issues confronting the region.

Top on the agenda were insecurity, governance, and development, with a shared commitment to finding practical and lasting solutions.
