As the over N3trillion 2024 Budget padding scandal rocking the Nigerian Senate continue to receive national discourse and public reactions, a group in the Northern part of the country, the Arewa Advancement for Peace and Development Initiative, has called for an immediate lifting of the suspension placed on Senator Abdul Ningi, representing Bauchi Central Senatorial zone at the National Assembly.
Arewa Advancement for Peace and Development Initiative has also demanded from President Bola Tinubu to order for an investigation into the allegations raised by the suspended Senator, and other issues of concern coming out of the alleged budget padding.
The group described the recent developments in the Senate as disgraceful and unfortunate, especially at a time when Nigerians are going through very difficult economic and security times.
Arewa Advancement for Peace and Development Initiative said it has given the Senate leadership an ultimatum to lift the suspension placed on Senator Abdul Ningi immediately.
They therefore called on Nigerians to look beyond political sentiments and join hands to face the enemies destroying the country.
