The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has paraded several suspects arrested for alleged car theft, armed robbery, cable vandalism, theft of agricultural infrastructure and other criminal offences in the Federal Capital Territory and neighbouring states.
The suspects were paraded at the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja, following intelligence-led operations by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad.
One of the suspects arrested is Adam Yusuf, an alleged member of a car-snatching syndicate operating across several states.
He was arrested under the Mpape Flyover while allegedly attempting to deliver a stolen Toyota Camry.
The Corps also recovered an AK-47 rifle, 16 rounds of ammunition, and seventy thousand naira from suspects linked to an armed robbery.
Other arrests involved alleged cable vandals and a suspect accused of stealing 15 tractor batteries.
The NSCDC says the arrests are part of its intelligence-led operations to curb crime and protect lives and property.
The Corps also announced the rescue of Micaiah Nana, the last of 16 children allegedly trafficked by Archibong Anderson.
The child was rescued in the Kwali Area Council, while the alleged buyers remain in custody.
