Cross River State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, (NSCDC), has paraded a young woman arrested with three explosive devices and several other dangerous weapons, about 25 kilometres to Calabar.
Roll SSD-Parading the suspect at the Command’s Headquarters in Calabar, the state’s Commandant, Samuel Fadeyi, said the suspect was arrested with dangerous weapons while heading to Obubra Local Government Area.
Fadeyi said investigations are still ongoing to unravel the intention of the suspect, assuring that the command will always provide adequate security, in collaboration with other security agencies in Cross River.
The suspect, Aniebiet John who claimed ignorant of what she was carrying at the point of arrest, pleaded for mercy for her action.
This is the second time in less than two weeks, that suspected people were caught with explosive devices in Cross River State, with the last happening in the Obudu Area of the state.
