The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC says it has, in collaboration with the Hunters Association, arrested five suspects for cattle rustling by its Agro-Rangers’ Squad, and recovered 48 animals.

This was made known in a statement by the command’s spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Corps, DSC Abubakar Muti.

According to the statement, the feat was achieved based on credible intelligence.

The Agro Rangers Team on patrol across Tafa Division got information that about 48 cattle that were suspected to have been rustled from Kafur in Katsina State were heading to Paukon Kore in Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja.

The Agro Rangers Squad swung into action and intercepted the cattle.

Muti gave the names of the five suspects, who were between the ages of 15 and 50, to be Adamu Ibrahim, Adamu Hassan, Bature Isah, Usman Ibrahim, and Jamilu Ibrahim.

After diligent investigation, the Commandant subsequently directed that the rustled animals, suspects, and exhibits be handed over to the Niger State Government.

The Commandant of the Corps, Joachim Okafor, pledged watertight and improve security for agro-settlements.
