The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, on Wednesday paraded a suspected high profile kidnapper in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

The Commandant of the Corps, Mohammed Wakshak, said his men are out to liaise with other security agencies, to ensure that kidnappers in the state face the wrath of the law.

Cases of kidnapping have become a regular occurrence in Taraba State, with residents living in fear of who could be the next victim.

However, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state, Mohammed Wakshak said those behind the high rate of kidnapping in the state are not invisible, and the command has tasked its intelligence unit to unmask them.

A suspected notorious kidnapper, Ubale Mohammed, was arrested by the corps in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The suspect has been handed over to the Intelligence Response Team of the Nigeria Police Force, led by DCP Abba Kyari, for further investigations.

The NSCDC and the Taraba State Police Command recently launched a crackdown on kidnapping activities in the state.

It is expected to address the fears of residents on regular abduction of innocent citizens for ransom.
