NSCDC arrests three foreigners, rescues 23 victims in Lagos State

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has arrested three foreign nationals including from Benin Republic and Togo suspected to be involved in sundry crimes such as kidnappings, among others.

The suspects were paraded alongside 23 victims rescued around Badagry in Lagos State South-West Nigeria.

The rescued victims are seven males,16 females and a child who are lucky to be alive considering their present conditions and the nightmare they went through in the hands of their abductors as many seemed to have lost it all, including their memory not knowing where they are from.

According to the Commandant, NSCDC Lagos State Command, Keshinro Adedotun who spoke through the State Public Relations Officer, Oluwaseun Abolurin,the arrest of the suspects was due to intelligence gathering on their activities over time bothering on human trafficking and kidnappings.

One of the rescued victims is from Imo State while the others are from neighboring Republic of Benin and Togo.

The arrested suspects were later handed over to the relevant authorities for prosecution.
