The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 275 operational personnel across the state to strengthen security and protect lives and property during Nigeria’s 66th Independence celebrations and Zamfara State’s 30th anniversary.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Umar Muhammad.
According to the statement, the deployment is aimed at providing effective security coverage for the anniversary celebrations, with personnel strategically positioned in volatile areas, state borders, metropolitan areas and other sensitive locations.
These include the airport, trade fair complex, recreational centres, motor parks and other public spaces across the 14 Local Government Areas of the state.
The statement said the State Commandant, Sani Mustapha, directed personnel to maintain extensive operational coverage, discipline, consistency and professionalism in ensuring peace and order throughout the celebrations.
The Commandant reaffirmed that the NSCDC, under the leadership of the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, remains committed to fulfilling its statutory mandates.
He assured residents that the Zamfara State Command would continue to protect the civil populace, lives and property, as well as critical national assets and infrastructure.
The Commandant also warned that anyone apprehended for violating the law during the celebrations would face the consequences of their actions.
