NSCDC parades 26 suspects for vandalizing electricity facilities

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Command has paraded no fewer than 26 suspects for the vandalization and theft of armored cables and other electrical gadgets worth several millions of naira.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Iskil Makinde, disclosed this while speaking with reporters shortly after parading the suspects at the State Headquarters in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Recently part of Ilorin metropolises like Tanke- Oke-Odo, Akata, and others were thrown into gross darkness following the vandalization of some electricity gadget supplying the affected communities by suspected vandals.

However, the prime suspect, Suleman Abdulahi, 25 years old who spoke in the Hausa language, confessed to the crime saying other suspects have taken to their heels.

In a related development, 40 officers of the Command have also been trained on cybercrimes detection and prevention.

Makinde, however, assured residents of the State of the Corps readiness to continue to tackle all forms of criminality within and around the State.
