The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, has raised alarm over the circulation of fake and AI-generated employment letters purportedly issued in the name of the Commission.
The Commission says some criminal elements are also exploiting unsuspecting members of the public by demanding money under the guise of helping them secure jobs at the regulatory agency.
In a statement, the NUPRC said the fraudulent activities have been reported to law enforcement agencies for investigation.
The Commission therefore urged members of the public to exercise caution and verify any employment offer purportedly issued by the NUPRC to avoid falling victim to the scam.
The NUPRC stressed that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise, adding that whenever recruitment is undertaken, the process will be conducted strictly in accordance with existing laws and government regulations.
