The family of the Paramount Ruler of Obudu in Cross River State, South-South Nigeria has announced the death of their father, His Royal Majesty, Joseph Davies-Agba after 64 years on the throne. This reportedly made him the longest-serving monarch in Southern Nigeria.
The late Paramount Ruler who was the father of the current Minister of State for Power, Goddy Jeddy-Agba ascended the royal stool at the young age of 29.

Aged 93, the late revered Monarch, according to the release signed by one of his sons, Kay-Jay Jeddy-Agba, will be buried according to the tradition of his people.
The statement explained that the public would be kept abreast with the details of the funeral as soon as the traditional institution concludes it.
The monarch whose traditional title was “Uti Item III of Utugwang, Uti Ukani 1 of Obudu was the Paramount Ruler of Obudu Local Government Area and Chancellor of the University of Cross River State.
