Ahead of the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly in June this year, the apex Ndigbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide is appealing to Nigeria’s President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC to ensure that the Senate presidency slot is ceded to the South East geopolitical zone of the country.

The Secretary General of the Chidi Ibeh-led faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okechukwu Isiguzoro made the appeal in Abakaliki, Monday, same day that the President-Elect and APC leaders, met with the Party’s lawmakers-elect over the soon to be inaugurated National Assembly leadership.

Isiguzoro told Journalists that ceding of the Senate presidency to the South East zone will enable the people feel the impact of governance, as well as address the discomforting issue of the Muslim/Muslim Presidency.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership observed that out of the six APC Senator-elects from the South East zone, one of them stands out for the top job.

The organization is full of praises for the outing of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi in the last presidential election, urging him to give it another shot if after exploring all legal options he did not succeed at this time.
