The Nigerian Oil and Gas regulatory sector is taking steps to strengthen transparency and regulatory as part of efforts to attract investment and drive sustainable growth in the petroleum industry.
At the 2026 General Counsel and Legal Advisers Forum in Abuja, stakeholders examined strategies for boosting investor confidence through effective implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act.
Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, says the forum offers regulators and industry players an opportunity to identify implementation challenges under the Petroleum Industry Act and develop practical solutions that will strengthen the sector.
Recommendations from this forum themed “Beyond Compliance: Driving Regulatory Certainty and Investment Confidence in Nigeria’s Petroleum Sector” are expected to improve regulatory effectiveness, deepen investor confidence and support sustainable growth across Nigeria’s petroleum value chain.
