Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of 4,800 Special Assistants, with 25 persons drawn from each of the state’s 192 wards.
The disclosure was made at the 2026 meeting of leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Governor Monday Okpebholo at the Government House in Benin City.
The meeting between Governor Monday Okpebholo and leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State attracted delegates from the 18 local government areas of the state.
The State APC Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe announced the appointments eliciting excitement among party leaders and participants at the meeting.
Governor Okpebholo said the appointments are part of efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and deepen the administration’s presence across the state’s 192 wards.
On receiving their appointment letters, the Special Assistants are expected to bridge the gap between the government and the people at the grassroots, while advancing the policies and programmes of the Okpebholo administration.
