Following recent kidnappings in parts of Ondo State, especially in farm settlements, operatives of Amotekun Corps in the state have intercepted 114 unidentified individuals without clear destinations and suspected to have criminal intentions.

The state Commander of the security outfit, Adetunji Adeleye, while addressing journalists on Monday said the individuals being transported in two trucks were set to be dispersed along the forest belt in the state, including the Ore axis, Ofosu and beyond.

Adeleye said in the last few weeks, security agencies have been engaged in running battles with strangers infiltrating the forests in Ondo State.

The Amotekun commander also said the State Governor has directed that all individuals without legitimate business in the deep forests of the state should be evacuated and sent back.

The Amotekun commander urged residents of the state not to harbour strangers of questionable background or origin.

Reacting to the development, leader of the Hausa community in the State, Bala Umaru, appreciated the Government for prioritising the safety of residents and sending the individuals back safely to their places of origin.

The arrested persons have since been sent back to their respective locations across the country.
