The Commander of Amotekun Corps in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, has warned unregistered hunters to vacate the state’s forest reserve or risk prosecution.
Adeleye gave the warning after men of the corps intercepted a truck conveying one hundred and forty-nine illegal hunters who were about to gain access to the state.
It is no longer news that the South West region is facing cases of insecurity ranging from kidnappings to killings.
Worried by these incidences, the Chairman of the Amotekun Commanders in the region and Ondo State Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, along with his men, intercepted 149 illegal hunters who were about to enter the state.
Adeleye said immigrants who are of northern extraction were arrested with weapons and ammunition.
Adeleye said the law that mandates proper registration of herders and hunters still exists in the state, to check criminal activities in government forest reserves.
The commander concluded that they would soon be returned to their states after proper profiling had been carried out.
