Gbenga Edema has emerged candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party for the November 16 Governorship Election in Ondo state.
Edema emerged at a substituted Primary of the party held in Akure following the withdrawal of ersthwhile Candidate, Isreal Ayeni from the race.
Edema was among the sixteen aspirants that participated in the April 20 party Primary of the All progressives congress in the state and had subsequently joined the New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP.
Edema in his acceptance speech said his decision to pitch tent with the NNPP was due to what he described as the lack of internal democracy in the conduct of the All Progressives Congress Party primary.
He described the NNPP as a truly progressive and people -oriented Party where he can pursue his aspiration to govern Ondo state.
The substituted primary was witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and security agencies.
