In a new twist to the controversy surrounding the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly primaries list in Ondo State, the Party’s Elders Forum has called on leaders, aspirants and supporters to embrace reconciliation and end protests over the National Working Committee’s decision to substitute some candidates.

Addressing Journalists in Akure on Thursday, Chairman of the APC Elders Forum in Ondo State, Ademola Ijabiyi, said the National Working Committee’s action reaffirmed that the party is guided by its constitution, established rules and internal democratic processes, rather than personal interests.

The Forum alleged that the initial primary results unfairly sidelined some serving National Assembly members despite their performance and popularity, raising concerns about the credibility of the exercise.

The elders stressed that the decision of the Party’s leadership is binding on all members, insisting that Party supremacy must prevail over personal or sectional interests.

They urged Party members to channel their energies towards strengthening the APC, promoting unity and working together to ensure the Party’s continued success in future elections.

The appeal comes amid sustained protests by some APC members in Ondo State over the substitution of National Assembly candidates, with the Elders Forum expressing confidence that reconciliation will foster unity within the Party.
