Artisans in Ondo State have urged governments at all levels to provide incentives that will empower entrepreneurs and position them for global competitiveness.
The call was made in Akure as artisans joined their counterparts worldwide to mark the maiden edition of Global Artisans Day.
Led by the Ondo State President, Gbenga Adefisoye, the group stressed that artisans remain vital to Nigeria’s economic diversification, calling for policies that support capacity building, certification, and access to modern tools.
They also highlighted the importance of digital transformation, urging artisans to leverage technology, social media, and e-commerce platforms to expand their reach beyond local markets.
The artisans say with the right support, the sector can significantly boost job creation and economic growth.
