Ahead of Saturday’s local government election in Ondo State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed confidence in the ability of the state Independent Electoral Commission, ODIEC, to conduct a free, fair, and credible election.
The APC’s Publicity Secretary in the Ondo State, Alex Kalejaye, made this known while addressing reporters at the party’s secretariat in Akure, the state capital.
He said the APC is well prepared for the exercise.
While the main opposition party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has refused to participate in the exercise, Kalejaye said the allegation of the PDP that the Chairman of the electoral committee will be bias can not be substantiated .
Ten political parties will participate in Saturday’s chairmanship and councillorship election in Ondo State.

Meanwhile, the state government has directed that Friday, August 21, 2020, be observed as a work-free day to enable residents of the state have adequate time to prepare for the election.
