The Ondo State Government says it may be forced to press charges against former Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi over his alleged refusal to return four officials vehicles attached to his office.
While the immediate past Deputy Governor claimed that he is in possession of just two official vehicles and not four as claimed by Government, the police authority says it will carry out a thorough investigation on the matter.
In June 2020, a video went viral, showing when the then Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi was challenged by security operatives while trying to move his belonging out of the Government house.
Two days after, Agboola dumped his then boss, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to contest the 2020 Governorship election in the state.
However ,two month after leaving office, the Ondo State Government claimed that the former Deputy Governor left with four vehicles.
The government says it may charge Ajayi to court if he fails to return the vehicles.

While reacting, the former Deputy Governor says he is in possession of just two official vehicles and not four arguing that the vehicles were his statutory benefit.
Meanwhile, the state police command has confirmed the receipt of the petition from government, saying investigation has commenced on the matter.
The big question begging for answer is whether it’s legal for a politician of former deputy governor status to leave with government vehicles after the expiration of his tenure
