Following the postponement of local government elections by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, ODIEC, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has constituted Transition Committees for the 18 councils and 33 Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs.
According to a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Transition Committees are to oversee the affairs of the LGs and LCDAs in the State until the local government election is held by the electoral body.

The statement said the State Government is also examining the concerns raised by some communities over the delineations carried out during the creation of the LCDAs with a view to making the necessary amendments.
The appointments take immediate effect.
