Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa

The Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, says his administration will continue to implement far-reaching reforms in the justice sector to strengthen judicial capacity, expand access to justice and entrench the rule of law.

Governor Aiyedatiwa gave the assurance on Tuesday at a post-NBA conference and interactive session held in Akure, the state capital.

The session brought together members of the Bench and Bar who attended the recent Nigerian Bar Association national conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Tagged, “Raising the Bar,” the programme provided an opportunity to examine the gains of the conference and how they could be translated into improved justice delivery in Ondo State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa challenged legal professionals to raise the quality of legal research and contribute to faster and more efficient administration of justice.

Other speakers, including the State Chief Judge and the Attorney-General, said the programme was designed to ensure that knowledge acquired at professional conferences translates into institutional development and improved service delivery.

The Ondo State Government also disclosed that the law establishing the state’s judiciary has been amended to increase the number of High Court judges from twenty-four to thirty-five.
