The Labour Party in Imo State, South East Nigeria, has described as regrettable the dehumanization of the National President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero by a group suspected to be agents of the Imo State Government.
But, the Imo State government has denied any link to the brutal attack on the Labour union leader.
At a Press conference in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on Thursday, State Chairman of the opposition Labour Party, Callistus Ihejiagwa described the action as unfortunate and undemocratic.

Ihejiagwa while calling for calm in the state wondered why those in power would resort to intimidation, harassment, abuse of human rights and illegal arrest of the Labour union president.
