The proliferation of small arms and light weapons has been described as one of the major reasons for the unending crisis that has plagued Plateau State for over a decade.

This was disclosed by the commander of Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, while parading a group of gun manufacturers arrested after the troops successfully dismantled their illegal weapon manufacturing workshop in the state.

This was another major breakthrough for the Special Taskforce Operation SAFE HAVEN, as the troops successfully uncovered and dismantled an illegal weapon manufacturing workshop in Plateau State.

The special task force added that the operation, which was based on actionable intelligence, marks a significant step in their ongoing efforts to combat the proliferation of illicit arms and ensure the safety of all citizens in its area of operation.

The suspects also gave an account of their various levels of engagement in the crime.

The special task force under the command of Maj. Gen. Abubakar Abdulsalam vowed not to rest on its oars until all illicit arms and light weapons are mopped up within its areas of operation as directed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Toaheed Lagbaja.
