The All Progressives Congress has concluded its House of Representatives primaries across all eight federal constituencies in Cross River State, producing a mix of returning lawmakers and new candidates in a largely consensus-driven process.
The exercise recorded both continuity and fresh entries as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle.
Delegates from Boki and Ikom local government areas participated in the exercise under the supervision of party officials and members of the electoral committee, with voting and collation carried out without reported disruptions.
Stakeholders who monitored the process commended party faithful for their conduct throughout the primaries, noting that the peaceful atmosphere underscored efforts to strengthen internal democracy and cohesion within the APC ahead of future elections.
The APC Chapter Chairman in Boki Local Government Area, Kelvin Njong, thanked delegates and party supporters for their cooperation and commitment to the success of the exercise.
Speaking after the exercise, the member representing Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, Victor Abang, appreciated delegates and stakeholders for their support and pledged continued collaboration with constituents and party leaders.
Similar primaries were conducted in other federal constituencies across Cross River State as the APC continues preparations ahead of the next electoral cycle.
