Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has expressed displeasure over the lip service being paid to publicizing government’s intervention in tertiary institutions by the management of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND.

The Vice President’s reaction was revealed by the executive secretary of TETFUND, Professor Sulieman Bogoro, in Abuja at the 2020 inaugural retreat on a research grant.

The TETFUND also disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari and the board of trustees of the TETFUND gave approval for the setting up of a National COVID-19 research and development centre as well as 12 COVID-19 testing centres across the country, among other research-related interventions.

The TETFUND aid funds have also been approved to increase the number of students staying on campus from 15% and disclosed that the sum of ten billion naira has been spent to settle stranded scholars in various institutions around the world
