The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) David Mark, has urged the people of Osun State, particularly supporters of the party, to protect their votes and resist any attempt to manipulate the outcome of the August 15 Osun State Governorship election.
Mark gave the charge on Monday in Osogbo, the state capital while handing over the party’s flag to its governorship candidate, Najeem Salaam.
His message was conveyed in a statement signed by his media adviser, Kola Ologbondiyan, saying the party’s supporters must remain vigilant and ensure that their votes count.
The former senate president also warned against any attempt to subvert the will of the electorate and urged ADC members to remain committed, organised and determined as the party intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the poll.
Also speaking at the event, the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar said the party has assembled some of the country’s finest political leaders and professionals to provide an alternative platform for Nigerians.
Atiku noted that the ADC has the capacity, competence and vision to transform the country and improve the welfare of Nigerians if given the opportunity to govern.
He urged Nigerians to support the party, saying its emergence represented an opportunity to chart a new course for the country.
