The Osun State Government, says it has launched an emergency response team to safeguard the state’s residents with 332 informants spread across wards to look out for suspected cases of cholera in the state.
The state’s Commissioner for health Jola Akintola who said osun state has not recorded any case so far, assured that surveillance has been heightened to prevent the spread of the disease in the state.
He disclosed that equipped treatment centers have been set up across the state.
Cholera is a potentially deadly disease caused by contaminated water and food and the state government is urging the people to always maintain good hygiene and to report any suspected cases to the nearest medical center
