The Osun State All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship Campaign Council has condemned what it described as “reckless, inflammatory and seditious” remarks by Governor Ademola Adeleke against President Bola Tinubu during his campaign outing on Monday.
Governor Adeleke had threatened that a repeat of the 1983 political crisis would be visited on Osun State should he lose the August 15, Governorship election.
The Osun APC campaign committee also stated that Governor Adeleke’s remarks that President Bola Tinubu withheld allocations due to the 30 local government areas in Osun State, is an allegation that is disparaging and unfounded.
The party claims they are manifestation of frustration as the reality of an impending electoral defeat continues to stare him on the face.
According to the Director General, Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Oluwole Oke, Governor Adeleke will account for the diversion of the ₦2 billion Federal Government grant released in 2023 for the procurement of Compressed Natural Gas, CNG buses to improve public transportation in the State.
Similarly, he will explain how his government mismanaged the ₦17 billion ecological funds received by the state in 2024 and 2025, as well as the management of the over ₦1 trillion revenue that accrued to the state under his administration.
Rather than distracting the public from discussing his lacklustre administration and issuing veiled and direct threats against the President and attempting to heat up the polity, Adeleke should prepare to accept the verdict of the electorate with maturity and dignity, the statement added.
