The Taminu Turaki-led Peoples Democratic Party in osun state led by former Governor of the State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and some stakeholders of the party have denied joining the Accord Party to support Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second-term bid.

Oyinlola stated this while speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the party held in Osogbo noting that PDP is a party that has its tentacles in all the nooks and crannies of this country.

Addressing the gathering comprising members drawn from all the 30 local government areas of the state, former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola explained that the purpose of the meeting was to educate the teeming supporters and members of the party on the situation of things in the PDP, both at the national level and the state level.

Oyinlola said although governor Adeleke has moved to the Accord Party, they are determined not to allow the PDP to die in Osun State.

The new Acting State Chairman of the party, Tunde Tijani, spoke on other steps being taken to stabilise the PDP in the state.

Reacting to the purported suspension by the Taminu Turaki-led PDP National Working Committee (NWC) the state PDP chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi insisted that he remains the PDP Chairman in Osun State, noting that a court has nullified the Taminu Turaki-led National Working Committee.

He described the stakeholders’ meeting led by former Governor Oyinlola as an open betrayal and a continuation of what he called a failed 2022 plot to stop Governor Ademola Adeleke.
