Ahead of the August 15th Governorship election ,the Osun State Command of Nigeria Police Force has commenced a two-day training workshop for its personnel ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.
This comes as combined some security operatives embarked on a show of force across major cities and towns .
With the theme securing democracy, empowering police personnel for credible elections in Osun State,the training focuses on professionalism, electoral security, and strategies for preventing violence.
According to the organizers, this training is designed to equip police officers with the knowledge and skills required to maintain law and order before, during, and after the election.
The guest speaker, Professor Samson Brown, said the initiative is part of efforts to ensure a free, fair, and credible electoral process in Osun State.
The command expressed confidence that the train will better prepare its personnel to respond effectively to security challenges that may arise during the election period.
At amother event, the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, embarked on a show of force across major cities and towns in the state, aimed at sending a strong signal to criminal elements, planning to foment trouble before, during, and after the election.
