Over 60 trafficked children in Taraba State, North-East Nigeria have disappeared after they were rescued and placed on a rehabilitation programme in Jalingo, the state capital.
Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku expresses shock over disappearance of the more than 60 trafficked children who were in the custody of the State Government custody at the Taraba Motel in Jalingo after they were rescued in September last year.
Governor Ishaku has ordered security agencies to go after those who masterminded the disappearance of the trafficked children who were rescued nine months ago.
Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku had promised to adopt the trafficked children after leaving office when he met with them following their rescue last year
The trafficked children were reportedly sold to human trafficking syndicates by their parents and guardians under the guise of not having money to take care of them.
